Barton Square
Barton Square is a new 19,000 square metre shopping experience which has been built adjacent to The
Trafford Centre and linked to it by a glazed pedestrian bridge. This unique £76 million additional
shopping facility, which took 13 months to build, opened in March 2008 is dedicated completely to
the sale of homeware goods.
Barton Square consists of a vast open piazza, sumptuous Italianate fountains and columns and a
soaring campanile. The Square was exclusively designed as a homes and interiors destination to
entice people not just from the Greater Manchester area but from further afield, it is one of a
kind. Retailers at Barton Square include the world’s largest Marks & Spencer Home, the
first HomeSense store in the North, the first Natuzzi store in the North West, as well as British HOME
Stores, Next Home and Habitat. Moreover, the tri-branded Moben Sharps and Dolphin store in Barton
Square will become the national flag-ship store for the three brands.
